What to Look for when Buying a Home? Danielle Windus-Cook has some answers that might help you.
Before looking for that dream home, the first thing to be aware of is that there is no perfect home. You could build your dream home today, move in, live in it for six months and think of things you wish you had done differently.
Obviously there will be things you need in a home and can’t do without. These usually pertain to location, size, number of bedrooms, and number of baths. Style of the home can also fall in that category. If a member of the family can’t do stairs, you obviously need a one story or at least bed and bath on the first level. These things are necessities.
Some things can be considered things you would like but if a home is in your price range and you love it except for that hot tub or pool that you were hoping for maybe you should consider that as something you can add later.
All to often a buyer will leave a house because it is lacking one or two things they wanted only to find that they compare every other house to it and find it was their best choice. If you’re lucky you might be able to come back to it but— it might be sold.
Before you start your search, decide what you have to have and what you would like to have. It will make the search much easier and less stressful for you.
Your dream home is out there but often times you create your dream home as you live there. It doesn’t necessarily come in a package.
