An Important Question for Sellers

Selecting the right real estate agent to help you sell your home is a vital and potentially challenging task.  There are so many factors to take into consideration when you are evaluating a realtor’s performance and trying to determine whether or not he or she is the right agent for you.  You can look at the size and notability of the company with which they are affiliated, what their marketing style is, or the amount of experience they have in the real estate industry.  But there is one key, revealing question that every seller should ask of a real estate agent they may hire to sell their home.  This question is whether or not the agent personally believes that now is a good time to purchase a new home.

This may seem like a strange question to ask the person who will help you sell your home.  However, potential buyers who are looking at your home may be uncertain or nervous about purchasing a home, and a real estate agent who firmly believes in and understands that now truly is a prime time to buy a new home can help assure the potential buyers of this.  If your realtor does not believe in the benefits of buying now, how can you expect them to be able to persuade a potential buyer that it is?

When you are deciding whether or not to hire a certain real estate agent, asking them this question can reveal to you exactly how he or she views the current market.

Danielle Windus-Cook Properties not only has years of experience in the Rochester area’s real estate market, but is also a firm advocate for the value of homeownership and the benefits of buying a new home in the current market.  As the Wall Street Journal recently stated, “With home sales starting to improve, and with prices now possibly forming a bottom, real estate could well be the asset that represents the best low-risk buying opportunity out there today.”
